I hope you've gotten a chance to check out Jacquelynne's directions for the first block. I found them very easy to follow and was able to whip up mine pretty quickly. As one who has quilted before might imagine, the most time consuming part was picking out the fabrics.
I knew I wasn't going to be embroidering the center, because though I used to be quite the embroiderer (and a bit of a total geek) at age 11, I really am not into it anymore. I guess I'm all about the time factor, and cutting out applique shapes just takes less time. In looking at my block now, I'm not sure why I didn't use the yellow in the centers of the flowers, but what the heck. What's done is done. And it still looks pretty nice, in my oh so humble opinion.
As I may have mentioned in my intro post, I don't really plan to stick to any certain fabrics throughout this project, but I will try keep the grey and white and maybe the purple (or a purple, anyway) consistent. As a scrap quilt designer I totally believe in both the power of scrappy to punch up your quilt and make it sizzle, but also in the need for consistency in the chaos. The grey and white and purple will be my constants. That's all I'm promising for now. But do keep in mind I am a woman, and we do enjoy changing our minds continuously.
Once you make your block, be sure to head on over to Jacquelynne's Sew Quilty Friends FB group and show us what you did! I'd love to have you stop by my EvaPaige Quilt Designs page while you are over there too!
I am so excited that Aurifil is our sponsor this month! There will be one winner chosen from each blog participating, and the lovely people at Aurifil will choose one of the collections shown above for you. You really can't go wrong with any of them.
I'm a huge fan of Aurifil thread, and ever since I discovered its joys a few years ago I've used it exclusively for all of my machine applique and machine quilting and have not looked back. I can even prove I have a decent collection by showing how I was able to quickly grab a spool of each of the colors in my block, and it's even pretty obvious some of them have been used extensively.
I became infatuated with Aurifil at Quilt Market one year, and was lucky enough to score one of the coveted tickets to my LQS's evening with Alex Veronelli, of Aurifil hottie fame, where we learned how the thread is made and believe it or not even though that sounds like the worst science fair project ever, it is actually quite fascinating when told to you in imovie format by a silver fox. I'm just saying.
He looks pretty thrilled to pose with me, don't you think? |
If you don't end up winning, or just can't wait to see if you do, I'm certain my friend Donna at Follow That Thread can hook you up. At risk of sounding like an infomercial, I will admit I'm a gusher, and when I love something, I don't shut up about it. But it's time to go for now so I will do so.
See you next month! In the meantime, make sure you check out what all the other bloggers are doing too!

I talked to Nancy Zieman and Alex Anderson at quilt shows. Not sure if I made any sense! I took a class from Kim Diehl a number of years ago. She is so down-to-earth that she made feel instantly at ease!
Very pretty! I can't wait to get started! I did meet and take a class from Pat Sloan!
cork@pa.rr.com
Love your block! Hoping to start mine tonight :)
I haven't met any quilting personalities yet!! :(
Thanks for he chance to win!!
I couldn't pick between Lori Holt and Lori Kennedy, I would love to meet either one of them.
I really like the thought of making this a scrappy quilt of sorts. I like the wool applique at Farm House Quilt too. I'm almost afraid to go to the next blog and see what's going on there.
My mind can only hold so many ideas. I can see this is going to be a great BOM.
I've just started quilting, so I haven't met any Quilting Stars yet. However, I've watched a lot of old Quilty shows at QNNtv and would love to meet Mary Fons. She seems so nice and easy to talk to!
I have not met anyone yet as I just stayed quilting this year. 😔 but I would love to meet jenny Doran from MSQC I love her channel and think she would be awesome to meet in person

No sewing celebrity sightings yet! I know if I did see one, I would hide behind a bush and take a cellphone photo from afar, but I wouldn't be brave enough to say hello! I also mainly know people by their work and Instagram names, so I probably wouldn't recognize a celebrity even if they were next to me at Wal-Mart. I get very excited if a well-known quilter "likes" my quilt photo on social media though! I once had a brief online message discussion with @giucy_giuce (again, I can't even recall his real name!). I've never used Aurifil. Thanks for the chance! I'd love to try it!
I've met Eleanor Burns and loved the class I took with her. I'm looking forward to trying to keep up with Maggies
I would love to meet Wendy Sheppard of Ivory Spring.
I have had the pleasure of meeting, and taking classes, with Alex Anderson and Robert Callaham. They are wonderful quilters and not pretentious at all. Alex has a wit and charm that speaks volumes to those who take her class and she stops and talks with everyone and readily answers questions. Robert Callaham was the first male quilter I ever took a class from he he was a hoot. He told the story of how he got into quilting when his sister refused to repair/remake a quilt he had and told him to do it himself. He spent time with each student asking them questions and just talking about anything and everything. Robert even brought in that first quilt he made, from a distance it was beautiful, but when you went up to inspect it closer, you could see what he meant by "the quilt police were looking for him!"
Thanks for the opportunity to obtain some of the wonderful Aurifil threads. They are delightful to use whether hand sewing or doing machine embroidery.
All the best, Terri at the Drake's Nest in Palm Bay, FL
That"s a beautiful block. Some of my fav colors. I love Aurifi!!
I met Susie Cleveland at a Guild workshop several years ago and found her to absolutely charming! I found her to be very easy to talk to and I would enjoy taking classes from her again!
Becky goldsmith. As program chsir, I spent 2 days with her. Like your next door neighbor
I sew with Eleanor Burns every month plus attend one of her classes every month. Because of El I've met Marianne Fons, Mark Lipinsky, Jenny Doan, Lori Holt, and Alex Anderson. Got to take classes from Ricky Tims, John Flynn, and Karen McTavish (3 classes plus lunch and several breaks together, wonderful!) My other 'famous' teachers are not as famous (Mickey Lawler, Pat Yamin, Betty Cotton, Sue Bouchard...)
I was actually fortunate enough to take a class at my local quilt shop to see how Aurifil thread was made with Alex. Such a great experience.
I have not met anyone yet, but have thought about going to a class at a local shop. Would love to expand my knowledge with sewing!
Visited with most of the Moda Designers but the high point was meeting Eleanor Burns. I'm sure I didn't make much sense but she was very gracious as we stood in line at a book signing and chatted for about 15 minutes. Thanks.
I visited with Karla Alexander of Saginaw Street Quilts at the Portland NW Quilt Expo, and she was very friendly and helpful--so approachable and nice!
Sadly not met any of the people mentioned, yet! Wonder if they attend UK quilt shows?
Just getting into quilting and love your center work on the block!
I've not met any of the stars of our community yet, but I am in the same boat as you....I actually gush about how wonderful the Aurifil threads are! (Grin) Your block is wonderful, isn't this block of the month fun?
Snoodles at the Lilypad
I haven't met any quilt celebrities yet. I would enjoy meeting Jacquelynne Steves! Your block looks wonderful! I like your colour choices. If you feel ambitious you could add yellow to your flower centres with a bunch of French knots.
I LOVE your color combination! I've never met anyone quilting famous, but Meg Hawkey of Crabapple Hill studio is a pretty big deal in embroidery circles, and was so open and warm. I got to show her a quilt I made from one of her patterns and get a picture of her with it.
I got to meet Sarah Vedeler and take a class from her. I learned a lot and really enjoyed meeting her. I do love your block, It is so great to see all the interpretations of this block, they are all so different but also alike.
I haven't talked to anyone. 24Tangent@gmail.com
Never meant any famous quilters but I would love to meet jinny beyers. I've learnt alot about color and values from her..she is my inspiration
I met Jo Morton through sone friends and eventually went to some of her Texas quilt retreats. I've met several others at Quilt Market also, great fun!
I would love to meet Kate Spain. I love her quilting mind and her cats. Thank you for being a part of this Aurifil giveaway and giving us all the chance to win. Gotta love Aurifil thread. So looking forward to the next block in Maggie's first dance. Brings back memories of when I was so young and going to my first dance. Oh Yeah!

I have not met any famous quilters as I am rather new to quilting although I have read about quilting techniques for years. I don't know who I would like to meet most as there are so many talented quilters to admire.
I haven't met any famous quilters, besides my grandma, and she's only famous to me! I would love to meet any quilters in the industry, famous or not! Just being able to discuss ideas with someone that shares the same passion would be amazing!
Pat Sloan taught a class at my guild. Wonderful teacher!
I would love to meet/talk with Alex Anderson. I know she's a local gal but very busy with Ricky Timms. I did get an email/comment from her once as I am a former Home Economics teacher and I told her I had been teaching sewing to boys which is no longer done in the school district in which I taught. Many districts have dropped the "Living Skills Classes,"which is unfortunate because most parents these days don't have time to teach those important skills.

I took a class with Eleanor Burns and had brought with me a quilt top I had made from one of her patterns. She seemed sincerely pleased to see it and even posed for pictures with me and it! I think I will always be a big fan of hers!
I'm a big Ricky Tims fan. I attended a super seminar and was very impressed. Also a big Libby Lehman fan. They both love dogs too, which is a requirement.
Barb in CA (bjjiminy@aol.com)
I've just started quilting, so I haven't met any quilting personalities yet, but I did get to hear Mary Fons speak at a quilting convention, which was really cool, especially since she talked mainly to beginning quilters!
The only quilting personality I have met is a local lady, Lysa of Lysaflower blog fame, who is a fabric designer, artist and modarn quilt designer. She has done some amazing things with shapes and colours, and the originality she shows in her designs is wonderful! Since she is an accmplished quilter and artist, and I am a beginner, she has given me wonderful advise, and I value her input. She is warm, finny and encouraging, and it's a lovely to know her.
I've never met any famous quilters. I'm a big fan of the Australian quilters...like jen kingwell, Wendy Williams, Margaret sampson george, rita hodge, etc. I'd really just love to talk to anyone about quilting...famous or not. None of my friends or family members quilt or even sew, so I have Noone to share my love for it with....thank you for the awesome giveaway! !
I've met Barb and Mary from My sister and me Designs and also Gail Pan and Helen Stubbings. I think it is awesome to meet them and find out that they are all such warmhearted ladies and such creative "normal" people, lol!
I live in a remote part of the Scotland and the internet is my way of staying in touch with the quilting world. Maybe one day I'll meet a star.
I just recently started quilting about a year ago, so I don't know that many famous quilters or their names. I did join the Splendid Sampler in February so I would definitely love to meet Pat Sloan one day! I would probably be an incoherent mess trying to talk to her. I love all of her projects that she has available and all the resources she gives for beginners like me to learn new techniques such as applique or embroidery!. I would also love to one day visit the Missouri Quilting Company store because I think it would be such an amazing experience to see all the gorgeous fabric they have there. (I think I have to save a bit of money for that trip, because you know you can't go there without buying something :)

Pat Sloan spoke at our guild this year. It was a pleasure to meet her.
I love your block! Eleanor Burns is the only quilting personality I have met and it was just a pleasant 2-minute conversation. She's great!
I took a workshop from Gail Garber -- had a nice visit at lunch time.
I've spoken to Bonnie Hunter, Alex Anderson, and Ricky Timms. I took classes from them and enjoyed talking with them. I love the colors you chose.
I actually met and talked to Alex Anderson at the Houston Quilt Show a year ago last November. She is so sweet, we talked for quite a while. I told her I was going to start quilting at some point, I was in the middle of remodeling my house for a move, so it was a year before I took my first quilt class and made my first quilt. I have had a few more classes, but haven't finished anything else yet
Love the colors in the quilt block you made.
I've taken some classes from "famous" quilters so I've talked to them briefly. Karen Combs, RaNae Merrill, Alex Anderson, and a few others. I probably said something goofy or embarrassing as that's how I seem to roll, despite my better intentions!
Last year I was at a workshop with Lynette Anderson (from Australia) and she is so completely approachable and fun. I am a real fan of hers. crystalbluern at tds dot net
I haven't met anyone..but I would love to meet Jacquelynne Steves and Jenny Doan that would be sew much fun! But I would love to see and meet anyone from the quilting world! Love your block! Yes Purple is a wonderful color to work with! Thank you for sharing!
I am so new to quilting and self taught via the "net" but my love of embroidery in quilts, I would love to meet Kathy Schmitz. Her designs and doodles always speak to me. I would probably be way to shy to even speak. Lol
First, before my scatterbrain self forgets, I want to tell you that I LOVE your fabric/color choices for this month's block. It's gorgeous.
I'm too new to quilting to have met any of the personalities... or to have known if I did. ;) I would LOVE to meet Jenny Doan of the Missouri Star Quilt Company, though. She's adorable and seems very down to Earth.
I do not think I will get to meet any quilting personalities due to where I live but I would like to meet Pat Sloan. She really has opened my eyes to many different aspects of quilting.
Hi. I got to meet Kay Mackenzie in her booth. She was very kind to spend some time talking to me about appliqué since this was new to me. After our talk, I gained a sense of confidence about needle turn appliqué.
Years ago I meet two of the three creators/designers of "Little Quilts" at their newly -opened shop in Marietta, Georgia. I WAS in total awe, spoke in stupid, abstract ways, and totally embarrassed myself! So sorry they decided to close their store.
I've had the chance to chat with quite a few quilting personalities. The last one was Bonnie Hunter, who borrowed one of my vintage machines while she was teaching classes at one of my quilt guilds, last month.
Beautiful! I met Jenny Doan from Missouri Star Quilt Co at her very first Grand Opening, she is so sweet!
love your quilting
I would love to meet Jenny Doan of Missouri Star Quilt. She comes across on-line as just a down to earth person, seems to always have an up attitude and if she makes a mistake acknowledges it,laughs and trucks on. She kinda reminds me of Julia Child! I think it would be just wonderful to be around her. I keep telling my husband if we ever get to take a vacation I'd like to go to Missouri Star Quilt Co. and I told him they have a room for men to relax in while the women shop. Maybe someday ...
Took a workshop with Pat Sloan a while ago, she was so fantastic at helping with color selections & going outside your box. Had a great time!
Jenny Doan of MSQC fame. She's as sweet as she seems.
I've talked to Ricky Timms and Jane Sassaman.
Wow, sad to say I've not met anyine in the industry. I would be so excited that even taking a picture would not register, words would ve rrozen. Glad your there to represent us. Taylor71758@outlook.com

I took a class from Alex Anderson many years ago as a new quilter. What a darling person she is and so helpful.
I haven't met anyone yet but will meet 6 improv type designers in November at glamp stitchalot in Ann Arbor. I am so excited.
Would like to meet Eleanor Burns barbjolly@sbcglobal.net
I would love to sit in on a workshop with Eleanor Burns, maybe because she has humor with her quilting.
I haven't met any quilting personalities. I love the purple and teal combination in your quilt block.
Your quilt block is gorgeous and I like the changing centers. It gives it something unexpected. I've met quite a few personalities in the last 40 years and taken classes with most of them - Alex Anderson, Sharyn Craig, Cynthia England, Laurene Sinema [great friend], Eleanor Burns, Margaret Miller, Maryilyn Badger, and many others, quilt and longarm related. I'd say I managed to stay quite coherent. =) We talked about quilting, so it was easy! I'd still like to meet and take a class from Debby Kratovil. dezertsuz at gmail
With me it was Kim Diehl.. I went to one of her lectures and volunteered (along with others) to hold up her quilts. I had a wonderful time to chat with her afterwards and had a pic or two taken with her.
I have never met a prominent quilter, but I read many of their books and look for their writings in quilting magazines as well.
I have never met any one personally. I don't know what I would say although I am never speechless!
I talked to Jenny Doan while visiting Missouri Star Quilt Company
What a delightful person and love all her ideas for quilt patterns
As a scrapaholic, Bonnie Hunter is someone I would love to meet and take a class from someday. I'm pretty sure we could get some real conversation going!
I spoke with Laura Wasilowski a few times, and Jean Wells.
Nancy Zieman, Eleanor Burns and you! Once worked in a booth at Madison quilt show and had a quick hello with Nancy. Attended a lecture with Eleanor at Nancys Notions years ago. Maybe will stalk you this September in Madison again LOL!
I have met Lisa Bonjean at a class I took. It was great to meet someone whom I have admired for a long time.
I have yet to meet with a quilty celebrity, but I'm certain I will be a tongue-tied sister when I do! I have wanted to meet David Taylor because I just love the nature scenes he paints with fabric. I also have only recently become aware of Bonnie Hunter (hard to fathom I know!) and would love to meet her as well. Personally I'm a scrappy quilt lover and gravitate toward that style in my own quilts.
The only quilting personality that I've met is Karen Montgomery, who owns the LQS that I frequent. She not only owns The Quilt Company, but she has designed fabric for Timeless Treasures (and someone else; can't remember right now), she designs rulers for Creative Grids, and she has her own line of patterns! Whew, what a quilter! She is better known by the quilt industry professionals than the quilting public. If you've seen the Scrap Crazy templates or the Quick Trim ruler, those are hers!
I met Elenor Burns several years ago. I went to her shop in California to see her demonstration for Egg Money Quilts.
I have not met any quilting celebrities, but my instructor has and uses many of their techniques in our classes.
I'm a new quilter and have not met any "stars" yet, but I have watched quite a few tutorials from MSQC.
I've met many but been too shy to say too much!!! So in awe of some of the 'stars'!!! LOL
mumbird3(at)gmail(dot)com
I haven't met any "celebrities" yet but I'm sure I will down the road. We used to have a great quilt shop near me where I started taking classes but that has closed. Now do many classes online.
I would like to meet Nancy Zeimen, I have watched her show for years and have learned so much.
I haven't met one of my quilting heros yet but I would love to meet Camille Roskelley!
Met Kaye England at our local quilt shop...was so impressed with all she shared!
Hi. I was fortunate to be able to attend 2 of the Houston Quilt Markets and Festivals. Met so many people it was overwhelming. But had to make sure and meet Linda Franz (of Inklingo and Quilted Diamonds renown) and of course, Monkey too.
That was several years ago, and much has happened since then.
There are so many wonderful quilters who share so much with all of us.
I have taken an appliqué class from Kathy Dunigan and taking another the end of July.
Dlemon@firstco.com.
I took a couple of classes from Anita Grossman Solomon on a quilt cruise. She rocks!
i had the pleasure of visiting hamilton missouri last april and went to missouri star quilt company and met jenny doan. it was everything i expected and more. she was warm, wonderful and so kind. then her staff was amazing. friendly courteous and very kind. i also met her husband and daughter so it was quite the adventure for me.
I got to meet Nancy Zimmerman many years ago. She has inspired the sewing world. I was amazed at how tall she was!
Love your fabric choices, lovely block. Many years ago Lynette Jenson of Thimbleberries fame came to our TB group meeting. I was able to meet her and she also signed my books.
Awesome giveaway Aurifil! Thanks for a chance to win!
usairdoll(at)gmail(dot)com
Haven't met a quilting personality, but would love to met Jacqueline Stearns or Pat Sloan. I appreciate their internet quilting information!
I have met you Beth, as I am a former member of your guild. Met a few known quilters while I was a member, but names escape me. I do remember George Siciliano, but others names are not coming;
I have met and talked to Eleanor Burns. She is a very funny and lovely lady. Had a lot of laughs when she came to teach a class at our LQS several years ago. Have met other quilting personalities but she remains a favorite.
I haven't meet any quilting personality as of yet. I love the fabrics you chose for your blocks. Just beautiful!
Maggie's First Dance Block #1
Hi, I took a workshop with Anita Shackleford. I really like the fabrics you chose for your quilt block- it's beautiful!
Would love to meet Amy Gibson!
Wow, I am so new the quilting world. I went to my first quilt show in Phoenix in Jan with my sister and met Jordan from Martelli and ended up buying one of their tables. I absolutely love it and then spent the rest of the day checking out all the awesome ideas. So I am on overload with ideas. I love it all and don't know enough to know who the personalities are. One of these days, maybe I will have a clue.
Would love to meet Jenny from Missouri Star Quilting. She's such a hoot! Her lay back approach to quilting sure helps a type A personality.
I have met Maryann Fons, Liz Porter, and Karen Kay Buckley
I would love to meet Jenny from Missouri Star Quilting. Not only do I love her videos, where she makes everything look SO EASY, but I would love to visit MSQC, which looks like such a cool place to spend the day. (I don't think my husband would agree with me on that!)
I haven't met any personalities yet. I've only been to one major quilt show and didn't see any VIP's, just other quilters like myself.
Have met Ricky Timms, but would really love to meet Jenny Doan. Hamilton, MO is about a 4 hour drive and would have so much fun meeting her. She is so talented and funny.
I have taken classes from Liz Porter and Sue Cleveland. Both are excellent teachers and lovely ladies.
I haven't talked to any personally, but would love to meet you and Pat Sloan.
I have only been quilting for 3 years now so I haven't had the chance to meet anyone in the industry...yet! I would love to meet Jenny Doan though, she looks like someone that would be great to hang out with and possible get into a little mischief too! lol
Wow, I have several autographs from celebrity "Quilters"that I have met, such as Sharon Schamber, Ricky Tims, Judy Niemeyer,Jodi Barrows, John Flynn (who also drew me a Bridge!)! But my favorite so far, is Lisa Bongean from Primitve Gatherings! I took her class and she is so talented! I love to stitch on wool!I would love to meet Jacquelynn!!!!
I was fortunate to meet Kate Spain a few months ago at my favorite LQS. I feel like I've met other just because of taking on line classes from Craftsy, and reading blogs. So many talented people so little time to meet them all. Right now I'm doing a couple on line quilts with Pat Sloan, she's a real kick. I started 7 years ago by watching the big "E", Eleanor Burns. Some day I am going to San Diego to meet her and take her summer camp. Well HAPPY QUILITNG, and I hope you meet all your favorite, inspiring designers and quilters.
I had the privilege of meeting Eleanor Burns during the 2016 AQS Quilt Show in Paducah, Ky. I was fortunate enough to get her autograph in one of her books I purchase. I have been to Missouri Star Quilt Company in Hamilton, Mo twice. Both times I found myself near Jenny Doan and both times I was unable to open my mouth! I'm determined to introduce myself the next time and let her know what a big fan I am.
I have never gotten to meet anyone yet..... But, hey, anything is possible. Just from reading your blog, I choose Alex. All of this is so exciting. Can't wait for each month!
I don't think I have met any quilting personalities but there are so many I have learned from online. I would love to meet and take a class from Patsy Thompson, and Christa Watson too! I have just been introduced to you through this BOM and love it already! cotten.gloria@gmail.com
I would love to meet Jinny Beyer.
I've only met one quilting celebrity, and she's a warm wonderful lady - Jenny Doan. I live only about an hour away from Hamilton, MO, and my first meeting was in her first tiny little quilt shop about the time she started making videos and I was introduced to charm packs. Next time we met was after the big move to North Davis street, and the opening of all the new shops. My favorite road trip. Ever.
I've not met any yet..not sure who would be on my list. I'm new to quilting and only know a few names. Beautiful block!
I have taken a couple classes from Mary Buvia. Enjoyed seeing several of her prize winning quilts up close and personal. It is so awesome there are so many 'star' quilters who are so willing to share their gifts and creativity. The quilting world has come along ways. And, all of you that maintain your own blogs....wow...how I enjoy reading and getting inspiration. Thank you!
That was too funny reading about Mr. Aurifil. But I do know what you mean, and I think it's cool that we can talk with our quilting heroes via social media. I love your block concept, and I'm happy to be sewing along with you!
I am fairly new to quilting and just learning who is who so I do not have anyone in particular yet that I am looking to meet.
I haven't met anyone yet, but keep hoping to visit Jinny Beyer's shop.
Your block is beautiful! I haven't met a quilting celebrity yet. Hope to some day.
I haven't met a quilting celebrity ...yet! lol Would love to meet Me & My Sister...they design such Happy prints...know they would be fun to spend time with..so would Lori Kennedy! she does AMAZING FMQ! (I bought her Classes on Craftsy!! & recommend highly!)
Thank you for chance to win your give-a-way too! Loooove the fabrics you used in your Block! I am still choosing mine :/ Gotta get busy! lol
I've taken a class with Laurie Shifrin, and I felt like I handled myself pretty well. I'll be going to Sisters, OR this year for their big outdoor show, and I'm kinda hoping to run into a "sew-lebrity" while I'm there :)

Love your block colours ! I haven't met a quilting celebrity, I live in a very small rural village in France :)
I got to meet Mark Lipinsky at Nancy Zieman's Sewing Weekend. My friend and I were looking at books and he came up and talked with us. What fun that was!
I haven't met any quilting celebrity in person. I live in rural Western Canada. I watch all my celebrity's on YouTube. Love to see any in person.

I would love to Meet Jenny at MSQC.
I have not met anyone yet but Jenny Doan was in my neighborhood back in March but I was out of town! I was so BUMMED! Would love to meet her someday.....
I've done a class with Katja Marek, she was in the Netherlands for her New Hexagon Milifiore quilt. It was great!
I've done a class with Karen K Stone - a lovely lady who makes beautiful quilts
I've really enjoyed meeting some of the wonderful Aussie designers and do some of their workshops. Rosalie Dekker is amazing and a wonderful funny person as well
I haven't met any quilting personalities in person, but I would love to meet Jenny Doan!
I haven't met anyone but if I did, I would just stand back in awe and soak up everything they hard to say - thanks.
I talked with Jenny Doan from Missouri Star Quilts at a Quilt show I went to. She is a very creative and informative lady!!
Btw. I love the colors you are using for this quilt.
I have met and taken classes from Gudrun Erla. Her patterns are so easy to follow and she is a great instructor. She has Gudruns Quilt Crew on Facebook so she posts free patterns there. She is doing Mystery BOM right now.
love your block and love Aurifil thread
I haven't met any celebrities yet--but after watching so many on YouTube videos and other places online- I feel like I am friends with all of them! :-)
I haven't met any quilting personalities in person yet, but I am a big fan of Eleanor Burns and Jenny Doan. I have watched Eleanor Burns every Saturday morning for as long as I can remember. I love her personality and how she makes a difficult quilt so easy to make and makes the pieces over sized in order to square up correctly. I would love to meet her and take a class from her. I just recently discovered Jenny Doan and have fallen in love with her Block magazine. I love her You Tube videos and am so excited to someday meet her also.
I met Pam Bono several years ago when she lived in Georgia, shortly before her move back to Colorado. She visited the quilting guild that my Aunt belongs too. Such a tragic loss of a great talent.
I met Pat Sloan at a book signing along with Pam Kitty. I babbled like an idiot:(
Thanks for sharing your talents.
I haven't met any quilting celebrities. I have exchanged Christmas ornaments with Martha Pullen though.
I haven't meant any quilting personalities in person. But, since you are leaving the definition of personality open, I have met and talked to the teachers in the two classes I have taken at a former local quilt shop. Also, I met and talked to a couple of quilters at the AQS quilt show in Grand Rapids, MI last August. I can't remember their names though. They weren't the celebrity quilters.
Nice block. I've met and hugged Alex, Victoria Findlay Wolfe, and Mark Lipinski. I've met so many others, including Edyta Sitar, Pat Knoechel (Eleanor Burn's sister) and Ricky Tims. I've been to Quilters Take Manhattan for a few years, so there have been lots of "famous" quilters there. It's fun!
I haven't personally met any quilting personalities, but have so many quilting books and magazines that I feel like I've met them all. I don't have a favorite, but would like to meet Nana. Not sure if she is a quilting personality, but I love her sewing blog.
Paula Nadelstern just spoke at a recent guild meeting-that's probably the closest I've been!
I met Pat Sloan in a quilt shop in Florida, and the took a workshop with Bonnie Hunter later that year. Talk about lucky!
I have not officially met any celebritys, but I did get a chance to see John Flynn at Paducah 2 yrs ago, too shy to approach him, was only about 5 feet away, saw Eleanor Burns while she was having a show the same year but only was able to hear her speak since we were outside of the closed off area. Really like the way your block turned out!
I would like to meet Kim Diehl. Love her designs! Your block is lovely and thank you for the chance to win.
I met Jeannie Doan in person twice. It was nice to visit w/her the first time she was at our quilt guild giving a talk and showing some shortcuts. The second time I was at one of their stores wanting a Block Magazine signed by her but she was so busy I didn't really get to talk.
I'd love to met Eleanor Burns, Marianne Fons, and Alex Anderson. There are others I love to meet or have a class under but those are my top 3.
P.S. I absolutely love the color scheme in your block. It is right up my alley. Thanks for the opportunity to enter.
Your block is very cute! I like the applique block but might have to try the free motion embroidery as I haven't done that yet. I met Bonnie Hunter and I've attended a lecture by Victoria Findlay Wolfe which I enjoyed immensely. Thanks for a chance to win.
Love your colors! I have not been to any quilt shows or met any "great ones". I've been quilting for a little over a year so everything & everyone is still new to me!
I love the colors you have used in your quilt block and look forward to seeing what other colors you will add in the rest of the blocks. I have not met any quilting personalities but I would really like to meet Jacquelynne Steves someday.
It would be a thrill to meet Eleanor Burns some day, I've learned so much watching her. I love the colors in your block!
I've had the pleasure to take classes from several quilting personalities, but probably my two favorite were Harriet Hargrave....so much information....and Susan Cleveland....such fun! The thing about these quilting personalities, they want to share their knowledge and want you to succeed!
I have met kim diehl. I love her creativity.
I would love to meet Jacquelynne Steves. I have followed her blog for several years and love her designs and fabrics.
I have not met anyone. I would enjoy going to Missouri Star Quilt and meeting Jenny from her blogs
I have not met any quilty personalities yet but a few I would like to meet are Leah Day,Pat Sloane,Mary Fons, and Vanessa Wilson. Thanks for the chance to win

I have not met any quilting personalities, I would so love to meet Pat Sloane and Jenny Doan.
I haven't met any quilting personalities yet but I'd love to meet Jenny Doan from Missouri Star. I just love her!
I have meet Shelly Pagliai, Tula Pink, and Eleanor Burns
Love your colours and the applique, my favourite shades. My quilting personality would have to be Chris Kenna, in New Zealand.I travelled to her "Mariner's Compass" class some years ago, a wonderful quilter , whose shared her knowledge with us so easily. We all valued those days so much, and came home with our own project, a permanent reminder of such an enjoyable and happy time together.
I would love to meet Vanessa The Crafty Gemini and also Missouri Star family.
I have not "met" any quilty designers. But I have emailed Amy Friend a photo of my completed quilty bag for a contest. She has been published in books and magazines and has her own book. Plus, I just love her style. Thank you, peterstankovich@comcast.net
I've met Robin Kingsley of Bird Brain Designs. She combines embroidery that I love to do and quilt projects.... bbtb4004@hotmail.com
HI,love your block! would be fun to meet Robin Kingsley of Bird Brain Designs some time.Love her work+color choices. msstitcher1214@gmail.com
I haven't met any personalities in person so far. I'm a newer quilter, just began last year with the Row by Row and it hooked me. I'd love to meet Rob from Man Sewing. I grew up with brothers and ended up a tomboy...anything boys could do, I had to do it too. As nervous as I was about free motion quilting, I saw a Man Sewing video with Rob doing it and that was the push I needed. LOL
I've not met any quilting personalities yet. Eleanor Burns is the first that comes to mind but really any of them would be great. Anything I can learn from them so I can become a better quilter is my goal.
I have not met any quilting personalities, but I'd like to meet
Kaffe Fassett. cknapp3626(at)sbcglobal(dot)net
When I belonged to a quilt guild, we have quite a few "celebrities" come talk to us.
Loved Carol Doak, Melody Johnson, Rob Appell .... always enjoyed the classes with them.
I have not spoken to any personality though we had kaffe Fassett attend and teach at our international quilt exhibition in Durban, South Africa last year.
Love the colors you used. can't wait to start mine. I have not talked to any of the stars, but would love to visit with Jenny at Missouri Quilt, her tutorials are great, I learned on how to quilt in 2013, while I was taking care of my sick husband (passed away in 4/2014). I trying to see Pat Sloan while she is here this weekend..
Been lucky to have taken workshops with Gwen Marston, Kaye England, Kathy Kansier, Sharon Schamber and Bonnie K Hunter. Love them all!
I went to the Machine Quilting Show in Salt Lake last year and took a class with Angela Walters. It was great!
I haven't met any, but I would really like to meet Eleanor Burns.
